The first rehearsal week of Cooperativa Maura Morales new production “Präludium der Kälte” at Ringlokschuppen Ruhr is nearly over. Thanks to the whole team for this inspiring and motivated atmosphere!

Currently Maura Morales is creating a commissioned choreography for the 11-member company of Tanztheater Münster at Theater Münster. It is a full-length piece entitled “Verwandlung/Fremdkörper” based on Franz Kafka’s novel “Verwandlung”

Since August 1st, the Cooperativa Maura Morales has been working on her new production “Efecto Mariposa” at the Ringlokschuppen Ruhr. Premiere will be ths 27th of November at Ringlokschuppen Ruhr

Nach 3 Monaten Bühnenabstinenz öffnet der „Ringlokschuppen Ruhr“ wieder seine Pforten sowohl für Künstler als auch für Zuschauer!
Für die besondere Ehre, die erste Vorstellung machen zu dürfen, sind wir sehr dankbar.
Und zwar mit “Wunschkonzert”, einem Stück, das in diesen Zeiten wieder überaus aktuell geworden ist.

Wir können wieder zurück ins Theater!

Man könnte meinen, dass dies, verglichen mit der existenziellen Situation, in der wir uns momentan befinden, in der es ehr darum geht, Gesundheit und Freiheit in Einklang zu bringen, die eigene Existenz zu retten, oder einfach nicht in Isolation sterben zu wollen, doch eigentlich nichts Besonderes ist.
Mit „Wunschkonzert“ auf die Theaterbühne zurückzukehren und diese in ihren vier Wänden eingesperrte Frau, die sich eine Zukunft wünscht, eine Vergangenheit beklagt und auf der Bühne der Gegenwart festsitzt, zu tanzen, wird für mich ein unendliches Vergnügen- aber auch eine große Verantwortung sein, denn:
Wie tanzt man den Verlust so vieler verlorener Leben?
Wie kann man die Unschuld des Tanzens auf der eigenen Couch wahren?
Wofür nutzt die Kunst, wenn der Tod ein Wächter ist?
Ach, Terpsichore, wieviel Katharsis es zu erzählen und zu verstehen gilt!

Wir freuen uns, diese Produktion, für die Maura Morales 2013 den renommierten „Kurt-Jooss-Preis“ erhalten hat, nach 83 Gastspielen in 15 verschiedenen Ländern endlich wieder „zu Hause“ in NRW zeigen zu können.

The first research period with the African dance company “Muda Africa” begins in February in Da es Salam, Tanzania.
This is a full-length commissioned choreography that will be premiered at this year’s “Asphalt Festival” at the end of July 2020 in Düsseldorf.

Here are some impressions of the artist residence at “South fest Thailand” in Songkhla / Thailand.

The short documentary “MAURA” by Jaqueline Hochmuth and Manfred Borsch with the music of Michio Woirgardt received the award for BEST FILM at the Experimental / Music / Dance Festival in Toronto / Canada.
